Gothic style school house. Tall multi-gabled 1 storey building, steep pitched slate roof. Hall plan with cross-gables. Lean-to area at rear with tall recessed doorway. Later modern extension 1991-1994. Front cross wing extends outwards forming 2 gables of different height. Ashlar dressings and Tardree quoins.

    Basalt stonework is in good condition but some rhyolite detailing shows evidence of deterioration with scaling and granular disintegration resulting in surface roughening and loss of architectural detail.
  • Condition Assessment (QUB):
    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
