East tower. Remains of Antrim Castle. Tall octagonal stone tower with battlements. Paired narrow lancet windows. Tardree ashlar quoins and dressing. Adjoining wall remains of brick and rubble with plaster render. Blocked up doorway at base of tower.

    Basalt stonework is in good condition with no evidence of surface deterioration. Rhyolite detailing exhibits some evidence of surface deterioration and disintegration.
  • Condition Assessment (QUB):
    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
