Convent of Mercy

Gothic style 3 storey plus attic, 6 bay house with paired four-centered arch windows. Ground floor has a central square-topped doorway with Corinthian columns, fanlight with miniature statue, and pointed arch surround with carved hood-mould ends. Centre two bays project slightly and extends higher in centre with window in gable and cross finial. Small dormer window either side.

    Sandstone is generally in good condition but deterioration is present at the corners and edges of blocks due to the use of hard cement mortar
