The Thompson Memorial Fountain

Tall Gothic style memorial fountain set on granite steps. Central spire with octagonal crocketed top and small finial, pinnacle either side with crocket top. Gabled section with carving and memorial plaque, granite drinking bowl on North and South face.

    Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with some evidence of isolated stone block deterioration and surface loss through scaling, flaking and granular disintegration. Heavy soiling.

    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
