Mussenden Temple, Downhill
County Londonderry

Circular temple based on the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli. South side has a square-topped doorway with light, carved surround and Bishop’s coat of arms above. North, East and West sides have a large rectangular sash window. Sixteen Corinthian columns run around the carved walls with carved inscription around the top. Domed slate roof with urn finial at centre. Basalt base with rounded arch entrance in East face
