Classical style 3 storey, 7 bay library. Broad end bays, enclosing a piano nobile of windows under round headed arches with floral spandrels, set behind Corinthian columns. 3 arches lead into entrance porch, and above this stone balustrade spans full width of central bays at first floor level. 2nd floor takes form of an attic with stone balustrade at roof level. Ground floor rusticated and set on a black gabbro base. Aggressively cleaned in the past, indicated by pitting and bedding-plane erosion
