Rosemount Slate

Rosemount Slate is Silurian in age (442-417 million years old) and was quarried on the Rosemount Estate, Greyabbey for most of the 18th and 19th Centuries. Rosemount Slate is a blue-grey argillaceous slate which forms part of the Tullykevin Formation and was used throughout County Down and the surrounding areas.
