Maydown Limestone

The Maydown Limestone formation of North Armagh contains grey Carboniferous limestone more similar in appearance to the Carboniferous limestones of Tyrone and Fermanagh than the Armagh Limestone Group. It is grey and uniform, often with visible fossils, Asbian brachiopods and corals are common. It weathers variably, occasionally showing heavy flaking and scaling
