Scottish Baronial style castle, 3 storey plus basement and attic. Scrabo Sandstone with Giffnock dressings and a rock-faced basalt plinth. 1894 Italian style serpentine staircase to garden front. NW corner has substantial 5 storey plus attic ‘tower house’ with corner turrets, machicolation and stepped gables.

Stonework Condition:Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with some evidence of isolated stone block deterioration and surface loss through flaking and granular disintegration.
