Venetian Renaissance palazzo style, 3 storey building with basement, in chamfered sandstone on a limestone plinth, rounded at corners. Central projecting section, rounded arch windows with keystones on all floors. Built for Scottish Amicable Life Assurance Company, later the Heyn Shipping Company.

    Sandstone is in good condition with occasional pitting and iron staining only, some flaking and scaling of limestone dressing.
