St. Paul’s RC Church

  •   125 Falls Road, Belfast

Gothic style, two storey church. Constructed in brick with stone dressings and carvings, including granite columns to porch. Interior includes Baldachino, Veronese & Carrara marbles carved by Orlando Dinelli (Pietrasanta, Italy). Later Sicilian Jasper, and in 1970 Devon Slate and Wicklow Granite were added.

    Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with some evidence of isolated stone block deterioration and surface loss through flaking and granular disintegration.

    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
