Wolfenden Tomb

Walled Classical style mausoleum with memorial plaque consisting of 4 attached columns below pediment. Wall built of rubble with capstones. Buff sandstone may be from an older building of Ballycastle Sandstone, rest local Sherwood sandstone. Quarry located nearby in 1830’s.

    Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with evidence on all façades of surface roughening with examples of individual blocks showing evidence of surface deterioration and loss of definition.
