Cove Sandstone

Cove Sandstone is Triassic in age (248-206 million years old) and is still actively quarried at Cove Quarry, Kirk Patrick Fleming, Scotland where it has been quarried since around 1890.

It is a red, fine-grained sandstone with distinctive bedding patterns and a porosity of approximately 17%. It is used throughout the United Kingdom and abroad, examples of use include the Kelingrove Museum, Glasgow.
