Albert Memorial Clock

Freestanding square clock tower in High Victorian Gothic with eclectic mix of styles, 113 feet tall with a base of flying buttresses surmounted by crowned lions. Main stone is Scrabo Sandstone. Most ornamental stonework was removed between 1924 & 1950 but have now been reinstated.

    Stonework is now in good condition, however this is due to the large amount of stone replacement carried out as part of restoration works in recent years.
  • Condition Assessment (QUB):
    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
