Elmwood Hall

Lombardo-Venetian style hall with attached tower and arcaded loggia. Tower is in Dungannon Sandstone with main building in Scrabo Sandstone. Rich architectural detailing to façade and tower. Mostly rendered sides and rear. Former Elmwood Presbyterian Church. Some replacement stone may have come from the demolished GPO, Royal Avenue 1985.

    Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with some evidence of isolated stone block deterioration and surface loss through flaking and granular disintegration.

    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
