Greg Mausoleum

  •   Knockbreda Churchyard, Church Road, Knockbreda

Square Classical style monument with domed cap on a concave base. Each face has a central blind archway with plaque and pilasters either side. A pair of detached Doric columns is set at each chamfered corner. These originally had urn finials but only one remains in place, the rest are on the ground.

    Sandstone blockwork is in reasonable condition but with some evidence of isolated stone block deterioration and surface loss through scaling, flaking and granular disintegration.
  • Condition Assessment (QUB):
    Stage 1 – A façade in this condition will only require localised remedial treatment concentrating on individual blocks. Stage 1 classification may also indicate that no intervention is needed with only periodic re-assessment of the façade is recommended.
