St. Anne’s Cathedral

Neo-Romanesque cathedral worked on by a succession of architects. Tall central gable flanked by octagonal towers, with lower towers at ends of screen walls in front of aisle. Main stonework mix of Doulting and Portland Limestone.

    Surface dissolution of limestone is reasonably heavy in places, with fossils sitting proud of the surface and occasionally heavy pitting.

    Stage 2 – Section specific remedial action is required but the extent of intervention should be limited because of the lack of distant involvement within façade boundaries.
